IMHO, the A7 II's biggest shortcoming is the outdated sensor. It is the same old sensor as the A7, and while acceptable, performs even worse than Nikon's old D600 (2012). This means in low light you will be getting a lot more noise. The A7 III sensor, on the other hand, is one of the best on the market.
